Crowned the 'Danish Biba', Margit Brandt's first foray into fashion began in 1960s Paris, where she studied as an apprentice under Pierre Balmain. A design job with Louis Feraurd, the popular couturier of the day followed, before the designer set out on her own in 1965 to helm her own collection. Now headed up by her daughter Julie, the label's pieces are still famed today for its mix of nostalgic patterns and contemporary shapes, in which jaunty bold patterns emblazon T-shirt dresses and shirts.
